The Xiaomi REDMI Watch 6 is a smart refinement of Xiaomi’s budget wearable lineup. Rather than trying to completely reinvent the category, Xiaomi focused on fixing the biggest issues from the previous generation—mainly the bulky design and limited controls—and the improvements are immediately noticeable.

Slimmer and More Comfortable Design
The biggest upgrade is the thinner profile. REDMI Watch 6, reduced the watch thickness to just 9.94mm, down from 11.3mm on its predecessor. That small change makes a surprisingly big difference in daily wear. The watch feels lighter on the wrist, sits more naturally, and slides easily under sleeves or cuffs.
It uses a unibody aluminum alloy frame with a plastic rear shell, giving it a premium feel without adding extra weight. At around 31 grams without the strap, it remains comfortable even during extended use.
REDMI Watch 6 also improved the controls. The rotating stainless steel crown is still present, but now there’s an additional customizable physical button. This extra button adds real convenience, letting users quickly access shortcuts like the control center or emergency SOS functions without relying entirely on touch navigation.
The watch keeps its 5ATM water resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming and everyday exposure to water.
The Xiaomi REDMI Watch 6 comes in three color variants. Obsidian Black, Silver Grey and Glacier Blue.

Bright AMOLED Display
The display is one of the REDMI Watch 6’s strongest features. It comes with a large 2.07-inch AMOLED panel featuring a smooth 60Hz refresh rate and a sharp 432 × 514 resolution at 324 PPI.
REDMI Watch 6 also slimmed down the bezels to just 2mm, resulting in a more modern look and an impressive 82% screen-to-body ratio. Outdoor visibility is excellent thanks to the upgraded 2,000-nit peak brightness. Even under direct sunlight, notifications, fitness data, and menus remain easy to read.

Smooth Performance and Reliable Tracking
REDMI Watch 6 Running on HyperOS 3, the watch feels responsive and fluid in daily use. Navigation is smooth, animations are clean, and the interface stays simple without feeling limited.
The built-in 512MB storage is enough for basic app data and offline music playback through Bluetooth earphones.
For fitness users, the inclusion of dual-band GNSS with support for GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS is a major advantage. Location tracking is faster and more accurate compared to most budget smartwatches, especially in areas with tall buildings or dense tree cover where cheaper GPS systems often struggle.
Bluetooth 5.4 ensures stable connectivity, while Bluetooth calling works reliably using the built-in microphone and speaker.

Health and Fitness Features
The REDMI Watch 6 includes all the expected health tracking tools, including continuous heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking (SpO2), sleep analysis, stress monitoring, and support for more than 150 sports modes.
The data is consistent enough for daily wellness tracking and workout monitoring, though it still remains a consumer-grade wearable rather than a medical or professional athletic device.

Battery Life in Real Use
REDMI Watch 6 advertises up to 24 days of battery life from the 550mAh battery, but actual results depend heavily on usage.

Light usage: Up to 24 days with minimal notifications, no Always-On Display, and limited GPS use.
Normal usage: Around 12 days with continuous heart rate monitoring and regular notifications enabled.
Heavy usage: Around 7 days with Always-On Display active and frequent GPS tracking.
Final Verdict
“ The Xiaomi REDMI Watch 6 does not try to compete with premium flagship smartwatches packed with advanced apps and cellular features. Instead, it focuses on what matters most: comfort, battery life, display quality, and accurate tracking.
For users looking for a dependable daily smartwatch with excellent readability, strong GPS performance, and impressive endurance at a reasonable price, the Redmi Watch 6 delivers exceptional value.“ – Rachelle TechG3
