Ambassador Lhuillier Launches Cashless Payment for Consular Services in Madrid

Ambassador Lhuillier assisted during the first payment using credit card, Ambassador Lhuillier announces the launching of cashless payment for consular services during the fund raising ceremony at the Philippines Embassy.

Madrid PE made consular services more accessible to its client through the launching of its cashless payment for all consular services, including consular outreach services starting 01 April 2024.  

In his remarks, Ambassador Lhuillier said that the cashless payment is part of the Embassy’s response to the President’s “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation. The Ambassador said  that “We heed to the President’s call to embark on a transformative journey towards a better Philippines where the government programs and services are accessible to every Filipino”.

To mark the occasion, the Ambassador himself assisted during the first consular payment using a credit card.  Consul General Mark Francis C. Hamoy, Consul Eric P. Valenzuela, Madrid PE personnel and members of the Filipino community were present during the launching. 

Cashless payments are made or accepted without the use of hard cash but through the use of credit or debit cards.  The Embassy also accepts other forms of online payment.
